Kannamoochi
Kannamoochi is a popularly known as ‘Hide and Seek’ is being played all over the world. Its quite popular game played among children and it’s also been played for centuries.
Kannamoochi can be played only in groups. It is the go-to game played by the kids during play time after school. It becomes more interesting when kids studying in other states visits their hometown during vacation.
This game does not have any maximum count to be played. So, it is played when there is a greater number of kids. In this game all the kids used to hide and one will find all of them. That one person who find the others is names as ‘catcher’.
The catcher is chosen by unique way of tossing known as ‘Sha boo three’. In this method of sha boo three all the players will stand in a circle and say sha boo three and simultaneously hands are tossed. Some with palm side up and some with palm side of hand below. Let’s say the palm side up as ‘tick’ and the palm side below as ‘tock’.
The minimum of the total toss will be excluded the toss and the others will continue the toss and the one who remains at last toss will be the catcher. In simple if there are 8 players and on first toss if there is 5 ‘tick’ and 3 ‘tocks’, the 3 ‘tocks’ persons will be excluded and the toss happens for the five. In second toss if there is three ‘ticks’ and two ‘tocks’ then the two persons are excluded and toss again happens for the three persons. In this toss one person will have ‘tock’ or ‘tick’ and others will have other one. Now the odd one is the ‘catcher’ and the other two will be player in the game.
Now the catcher is finalised. The catcher will turn towards a wall and close his/her eyes and take a count of 50 or 100, in the meantime other players will hide in their positions. Once the countdown is over the catcher will go in searched of others and the one who is found will be the catcher for the next round. On the other hand, if a player runs to the ear side of the catcher and give him a tap in his back then the same person will be the catcher for the next game as well. Interesting part is this game is played with all the other peoples of the house and sometime they deviate the catcher from the hiding person which will cause a happy chaos. Another important rule is that there is a boundary and kids must not go beyond the boundaries to hide.
